Salient Features Of Rudolph Digital Polarimeters

Each Rudolph polarimeter has its own features that make it stand apart from the competitors. The following is a list of the stand-out features each model has:

Multiple Wavelengths

Each digital polarimeter model in the Autopol series offers different wavelength options. Autopol VI, the flagship model, offers six standard wavelengths including 365nm, 405nm, 436nm, 546nm, 589nm, and 633nm. The most basic variant, the Autopol I, has a single wavelength and is ideal for budget-focused laboratories and research institutes. This model measures optical rotation at 589nm which is often referred to as Sodium D-Line.

Temperature Control

All Autopol models are equipped with the ability to control the temperature of the samples. This is achieved by means of the rubber gasket in the polarimeter door. This arrangement allows tubing to be connected from an external temperature-controlled water bath to the jacket of a jacketed polarimeter sample tube.

Cell Length

Most manufacturers design digital polarimeters in a way that they accept only special sample cells, with a maximum length of up to 100 mm. However, Rudolph polarimeters have a design that can accommodate sample cells of up to 200 mm long.These cells offer an advantage by having twice the sensitivity as the 100 mm cells. All RRA sample cells are designed to be compliant with NIST standards.

White Light Source

Rudolph polarimeters have a Tungsten-Halogen lamp that allows selection of any wavelength in the visible spectrum by means of a narrow band multi-layer interference filter. The lamp is compact, robust, reliable, economical, and has a high intensity.
